Description

 Create a small felted landscape picture measuring approximately 10 inches by 12 inches to take away.

This is a small informal group of students, allowing plenty of individual tuition, and is suitable for beginners and those with some felting experience.

In this workshop you will learn about:

  • Preparing your workspace
  • The felting process and types of fibres and fabrics
  • Staple length, and the felting properties of different fibres
  • Making and using prefelts
  • Felting layouts and shrinkage
  • Planning the picture
  • Composition colour and tone
  • Perspective
  • Wetting and soaping fibres
  • Reshaping, rolling, rinsing, fulling, finishing and display

We will also discuss adding needle felting and stitching

Bring:

  • A reference photo to work from
  • Two old hand towels
